Warlocks are one of the most powerful classes. They can sustain damage over time, hit with wicked damage, summon demonic minions, and obliterate battlegrounds.

Cursing with a Warlock
Warlock's curses are extremely valuable in a PvP and PvE environment. In PvP cursing is valuable because you can curse all of the enemies around (this will support the tanks) and rack up tons of honorable kills. Cursing is also valuable in PvP because if you die the curse does not go away! If you had done enough damage before you had died you still may be able to get an honorable kill out of the target.

Cursing in PvE is also valuable as well. With cursing you can continue to do damage to enemies while you are waiting for spells to cast. Also, cursing in PvE can help you make it to the top of the DPS list every time.

Soul Shards
Soul shards can be gathered by casting 'Drain Soul' on an appropriate target. Soul shards are used to summon your minions, create your stones (such as soulstone, healthstone, firestone, and ect.), open a summoning portal, and cast certain spells. Soul shards can be quite the nuisance sometimes. If you do not have a constant stock of them on you then you may have to go without a minion or not have use of some of your best spells.

Minions
The Warlock minions are: Imp, Voidwalker, Succubus, Felhunter, and Felguard (you can only use this minion if you do a Demonology talent spec.). Minions are mainly used for leveling and battlegrounds occasionally.
The Imp is used at the beginning of the game for simple monsters to help you get started. The Imp cost no soul shards and does not need a lot of mana.
The Voidwalker is one of the most used among leveling Warlocks. The Voidwalker can be used as a tank. It has taunting features that allow it keep the target focused on it.
The Succubus is one of the least used minions. Its focus is on stunning the target with seduction or making it target something else other than itself.
The Felhunter is the final minion for those who do not go in the Demonology talent spec. The Felhunter can occasionally keep the focus on itself and it has nice spells against magical targets.
The Felguard can only be obtained through the Demonology talent spec. It can deal out a decent amount of damage and it can keep the focus of a target on itself instead of you.

Talents
Talents for the Warlock class are focused on what you want out of it.
Affliction can be used for PvP and PvE. This talent spec. has nice self heal in it out of curses. You get Haunt at level 60 from this talents spec. Haunt is good for dealing large amounts of damage over time while healing you for a percentage of the damage.
Demonology is mainly used for leveling. This talent spec. offers nice boost and a fancy Felguard at level 60. I would not recommend this talent spec. for PvP.
Destruction is mostly used for PvP. This talent spec. can deal large amounts of damage quick, but you have to suffer through spell cast time. At level 60 this talent spec. offers Chaos Bolt which offers a large amount of damage on first hit and little after.

Battlegrounds
If you know how to play your character you can obliterate battlegrounds. With fearing and cursing you can rack up honorable kills quickly and keep yourself safe. Just in case your target is immune to fear Death Coil has the same effect, just for a shorter amount of time.

Gear
Gear is what makes or breaks a Warlock. In your gear you need to make sure that you have lots of mana regen. and spell power. Before I was geared on my Warlock my spells barley did anything. Now that I am geared I'm hitting 6-7k critical almost every other hit. Also, since Warlocks have to wear cloth we have a nice buff called Demon Armor that boosts your total GS.

:X u can done dps12-18k in pve with normal gs5700 t10 in icc, Demonology best spec for leveling and pve i think!
