Thread: [Tutorial] How to add custom items to cataclsm

Hello, I am here to teach you guys how to legitly add items to World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

NOTE! THIS IS PARTIALLY THEORIZED, BUT 82% OF THIS THEORY WORKS!

Repack Type: Trinity
Build: 4.0.0.11927 (I think that is)
Repacks: These Repacks have and havent been tested for custom items

Name: Tree Noob Trinity Cataclysm

Note: This build may or may not be up-to-date, but treetree took down the links on her page for the reason of being outdated. Her original post can be found [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. This Build hasnt been tested but i'm almost 100% positive it has the power to do it.

Name: Novo's Easy WoW Cataclysm Server

Note: 100% is working without a doubt, can have items added to it! I have tested this myself when it first came out, it does in fact work, I made a custom frostmourne for me and my friend on my old server and it did work! The only let down to the server is that its in German.

Tutorial part. Weew!
Ok now that we are getting to the fun part, here is what you will need

• A .sql file that SHOULD have your custom npc or custom item in it
• hedisql or any other database editor

How to make a custom item
You can make a custom item on your own time, because i will not show you how. OR use the automated wow-v system which 99% of people should know about... if you don't ill give you a brief tutorial how.

Here in a nutshell i will teach you how to make an item.

1. Click the wow-v link above
2. register
3. go to create
4. Fill in everything you want
5. when your done click download
6. trinity
7. and your done congrats on making your item good or bad

If your using Novo's Repack

1. Start server
2. Open Your item with your db editor
3. execute the script
4. Done, Custom thing added

If your using TreeTree's Repack

1. Start MySql
2. Start Apache
3. Start authserver (i think it is)
4. Start World Server (again i think thats what its called)
5. Open your db editor
6. Execute the file
7. Done, Custom thing added

Now your thinking, "But King, the worgen female bodies are all screwed up in this build"
Me: "Fear not, I foresaw this!"

I think you just need to name it too one of the "SoundCache-patches" to get it to work, found in "wow\data\cache" i think thats where you place it, ill check for a 100% check later...
