Hey jerry i got it to work i just reinstalled my Xampp and it was all good and i have the site up and everything. The only thing that changed was that instead of (myipadress:8080) its now (myipadress:80) and so i have to use a web re direct with No-IP and not port from 80. People will still be able to connect to my server with my ip right?
Yes
is there any reason it went from :8080 to :80? Just Curious
I am not sure without knowing what happened! But I know when you use repacks; a lot of them have Xampp light. And if you install Xampp it will cause conflicts between them two. The only way I have found to fix it is to wipe all the Xampp and re-install after ending all processes. Or in the installation of the Xampp install there an option to adjust all the associated files that fixes the issue sometime too. But I have never seen it change the port. Maybe it’s because the port was in use during the set up? No idea sorry.
so long as it is accessible to the outside world then its cool with me. btw i have noticed with some private servers people have they use a IP Adress that starts with 255 and i think thats a Subnet or something of the sort how do you do that?
I mask mine!
Creating DNS account
The first thing you need to do is make a DNS for your server. This will hide your server's IP address in a sub domain, for example, if my server's IP address was 32.453.65.56, I could make a DNS so that my server could be accessed through wowwow.exampledomain.com. You can skip this step if you want but it is not recommended, if you decide to skip it, your server will be located at your IP address.
Go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and create an account. Next go --here-- and choose a host name (this will be the address people use to get to your server) and click “Use auto detected IP address” in the IP address section, then click create host. I would also reccomend you downloading the DynDNS Updater at [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
