Thread: Little "Poll" about experiences.

Hello, i' introduce myself, spido, was admin on ssWoW servers about 2 years ago.

I've stopped activities but i wan't to reload my server.

I'm in a delicate position, 2 years ago there was only Antrix(Pre-Ascent) and Mangos emulator.

Now i see about Trinity, MatrixCore, Mangos, ArcEmu.

So, i need somes evalutions of yours experiences,

Can you tell me wich one is better. (About debug of spell and UPtime).

I'm really interested by yours experiences about UPtime of yours servers and wich emulator give that ^^

well, it is all basically your preferences. Personally i prefer Mangos based servers because of the stability and they have alot less bugs, also they are alot easier to understand and compile yourself. I actually have nothing bad to say about Mangos actually. But that it what i would suggest you start with. Were you planning on using a repack or compiling your server yourself? but if you need anything or have any questions, i know my way around a wow server pretty well, you are more than welcome to add me on Windows live [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Well to my opinion, the best to start with is Arcemu. Its more userfriendly then Mangos or Trinity, easier to set up and easier to edit. If you want a blizzlike server, just fully blizzlike no custom things I would advice you using Mangos or Trinity. Since they have less bugs and are more stable. If you want to make a funserver or a server with a lot of custom things I advice Arcemu, because its easier to edit that one, and they support Lua.

I'm not really a beginner, i had server with around 200 players.

But, now, i made some "market research" and i see that mangos is still alive ^^
And there's really a lot of alternative. (In the past there was only mangos and antrix)

So the question isn't about the easyest way to make my server, but much on stability and debug question. Wich one is the most involved ?

About Trinity, is the development is stopped ? Cause on their website i don't see any announcement since 2 weeks :s

There are a lot of scripts and websites made for ArcEmu.

And ArcEmu has more DB groups. So if you're planning on running a fun server, then I suggest using ArcEmu. Are you going blizzlike? Then use MaNGOS.
